Keeping in view the ongoing winter season and with an eye on 2016 summers the secretary tourism MD JKTDC Farooq Ahmad Shah had comprehensive meeting with JKTDC managers ,engineers and other supporting staff today in TRC Jammu.The secretary stressed for applying total professional approach to upgrade the quality service and standard of JKTDC for realizing the dream of Honble CM to see JKTDC as best tourism corporation of the country, Farooq Ahmad shah informed that JKTDC has expanded its room capacity by adding standard 100 rooms in last 10 ten months besides upgrading and inaugurating its infrastructure all over the state including state of the art Pahalgam club.The MD said that to inculcate the professional outlook among the staff and management of JKTDC multiple capacity building programmes and training was imparted to the waiters and other officials who directly cater to the guests which according to him will be a continuous process so that the quality of service and standard will be at par with the international and national standards.
The secretary informed that JKTDC will organize food festivals in the country for promoting rich, unique ethnic cuisine and culture of the state which will act as an effective medium to promote Jammu Kashmir as one of the best tourist destination in the world and this as he said is the dream of Honble CM, Farooq Ahmad shah appreciated the team work of JKTDC management and officials who have worked hard to increase the revenue from last financial year and this he said is the direct result of upgraded and expanded infrastructure as well.The secretary warned the staff who fails to facilitate the tourists or who indulge in practices which are detrimental to JKTDC policies and mission of providing best an quality service and atmosphere to the visitors.The MD announced that the Hareesa festival will be organized on 16 and 17th of December in Wazwaan restaurant Jammu which will be followed by the traditional bakery and bread festival for showcasing the rich bread making skill of Kashmiri bread makers belonging to all parts of Kashmir.The GM JKTDC Riyaz Ahmad, Exen JKTDC Riyaz Ahmed and other managers along with other staff officials were also present.
