Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Dr. Asgar Samoon today convened a meeting of officials to take stock of buffer stocks of LPG in Kashmir Valley. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioners of valley through video conferencing. Various sale managers of oil companies also attended the meeting.The Divisional Commissioner instructed the DCs to ensure stocking of LPG cylinders in their districts, so that there is no shortage of cooking gas. He directed DC Pulwama to personally visit Pampore Bottling Plant to assess buffer stock of LPG. The oil companies were also directed to ensure buffer stocking of LPG. The Div Com directed the concerned to issue LPG connections on subsidized rates in far flung areas.The Div Com was informed that HPCL is opening its branches at Chadoora, Handwara, Sopore, Chantkhan, Chatergul, Kangan, Verinag, Batpora Muran Pulwama, Sumbal, Ganderbal and Pahalgam while as IOC is opening its branches at Bijbihara, Lar, Budgam and Tritpora Kupwara.The Div Com directed the CAPD officials to inspect Petrol Pumps on regular basis. He was told that the already constituted team has inspected 274 petrol pumps since January 2015.The Div Com stressed on better coordination among various agencies so that people don’t feel any in convenience.
