An extensive drive has been initiated by District Administration, Udhampur, for enrollment of more than 5.50 Lakh persons under National Food Security Act for provision of ration on subsidized rates. Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary yesterday convened a meeting of officers of District Coordination Committee and rolled out enrollment process.A dedicated Grievance Redressal Cell has been opened in DC Office where inhabitants can approach for any complaint or redressal of grievance, enrollment forms can also be requisitioned and enrollment schedule obtained. A central landline has been established at 01992-272727 which will be functioning from 9 am to 5 pm.
Areas have been assigned to senior officers of district administration who have started extensive awareness cum enrollment drive across the district. Addl District Development Commissioner Arvind Sharma has been assigned Majalta Tehsil while as Addl DC Angrez Singh Rana in incharge of Chenani and Latti tehsil apart from supervision of Ramnagar and Basantgarh Tehsilds through respective SDMs. Asstt Commissioner Revenue Rajiv Mangotra is incharge for Panchari and Moungri tehsils. A committee of Chief Planning Officer, Asstt Commissioner Development, Tehsildar, BDO, AD CAPD and TSO is incharge of Tehsil Udhampur.Interdepartmental teams have been constituted at Village/Panchayat level and also at cluster level headed by Naib Tehsildars, ZEOs, ZEPOs and other officers. Patwaris, Members of Panchayat, Lumberdars, Chowkidars, VLWs and other officials are members of the enrolment committee for door-to-door enrolment drive. Sub-Divisional, Tehsil, Niabat and Cluster committees have been constituted for supervision.
Addl DC A S Rana convened public meetings and awareness camps at Chenani, Sudhmahadev and Latti. Likewise schedule has been issued for meetings and camps at Panchari, Moungri, Ramnagar, Majalta and Basantgarh by senior officers on 11th and 12th December.The DC has appealed general public for ensuring 100% enrollment of eligible families under National Food Security Act both under BPL and APL categories and for approaching the grievance redressal cell in case of any shortfall or complaints. For checking fair and transparent enrollment process vigilance and monitoring squads have been constituted under the supervision of DDC. CEO and EOs of Urban Local Bodies have been entrusted with enrollment in urban areas in coordination with CAPD Department.
