Final match of Shaheed Aga Syed Mehdi Memorial T-20 Cricket Tournament 2014-15, which was organized by District Police Budgam and Sheikh-ul-Alam Sports Organization Budgam, was played between Master’s XI Ompora and YCC Parimpora at Sports Stadium Budgam.Master’s XI Ompora won by a narrow margin of 03 runs after a nail biting finish between the two teams.Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone S.J.M. Gillani was the Chief Guest on the occasion, DIG CKR Srinagar Shri Ghulam Hassan Bhat, D.C Budgam Shri Altaf Ahmad, SSP Budgam Shri Fayaz Ahmad Lone and other district officers were also present during the cricket match. IGP Kashmir later distributed awards among the players and presented the trophy to the winning team.
S.J.M Gillani during his address on the occasion expressed full support in developing the sporting talent of the youth of the district. He also assured all the necessary help needed by the district administration in nurturing the sportsmanship of the youth. In his address, IGP Kashmir complemented the district police for organizing the tournament. He said that police will continue to support in developing the supports talent of the youth in the valley and all necessary support will be provided in this regard. (CNS)
