Prominent Gujjar leader and MLA Kangan Mian Altaf Ahmed has called the India’s External Affairs minister’s Pakistan visit a welcome step and need of the hour.In a statement to KNS, Mian Altaf said that this visit will be fruitful for both centuries to settle their long pending disputes. After a long gap visit of external affairs minister to Pakistan once again proved that dialogue is the only way to solve the disputes. Gujjar Leader urged the leadership of India and Pakistan to address the requirements of the future rather than focusing on the hangover of the past.

He said that there is a dire need of constructive engagement that can reduce the level of mistrust in both countries. He hoped that visit of Sushma Suraj to Pakistan will be prove a relief to the people of Jammu and Kashmir state living on the LOC and IB who are big sufferer during last year hostilities between two centuries and cross border firing. In border areas of Jammu, Kathua, Samba and Rajouri and Poonch districts people have faced tremendous problems due to cross border firing, now they will surely get relief.

He suggested that the dialogue process should be a continue process, because it is the only viable way to solve the all long pending disputes. Both the countries should decide that it was time to change the environment, the narrative and the mindset and to start investing in friendship, trust-building and serious mature relations with each other rather than investing in hostility and animosity which has always resulted into disastrous consequences for the people of the two countries especially in Jammu and Kashmir.”Mian Altaf Ahmed also stressed upon the need to reducing the trust deficit and favored sustained and meaningful dialogue between New Delhi and Islamabad.
