Despite government announcing winter break in the Kashmir Valley, various private school managements have paid no heed to the order and have kept their schools running. The schools including Delhi Public School, Oasis, Shamford Futuristic School, Anantnag, and many other schools have paid no heed to the government order.Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar has said that the winter vacation of government and recognized private schools up to middle standard of Kashmir division and winter zone of Jammu division would begin from December 7.While talking to KNS, a parent from Anantnag whose has enrolled his ward in Shamford Futuristic school said that the school administration forced their children to attend the classes even after the winter break has been announced.“We cannot even deny to send our children to schools as the authorities are charging them for remaining absent for a day,” he said.

“Our children are suffering in this harsh winter. The government should look into the matter and should redress our genuine grievances at earliest,” he said.Another parent who has enrolled his ward in Oasis said that on the chilly morning they have to send their ward to the school as the school administration has not obeyed the government order. The parents later appealed the higher ups to look into the matter at the earliest.Despite repeated attempts, Minister for Education, Naeem Akhtar and Director Education, Shah Faisal could not be contacted for the comments as their phone remained switched off.
