Hurriyat (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said Kashmiri people need to safeguard the sacrifices of the tens of thousands of martyrs, who had offered selfless sacrifices, for taking the ongoing resistance movement to its logical conclusion while the leadership needed to show confidence in the people and remain steadfast and involved with the movement at every stage.According to a statement issued to KNS, addressing a gathering of people after visiting Ashijipora, Islamabad for handing over relief cheques to the September 2014 flood-affected people of twin south Kashmir districts of Islamabad and Kulgam under the Dar-ul-Khair Mirwaiz Manzil’s ‘Ak Akis’ initiative, the Hurriyat (M) Chairman said Kashmiris had been offering sacrifices of their lives and properties for the past several decades and now they needed to ensure that these sacrifices do not go waste for which they needed to be steadfast and committed to take the vexed Kashmir issue to its logical conclusion.

Mirwaiz was accompanied by senior Hurriyat (M) leaders Muhammad Musadiq Adil and Mukhtar Ahmad Waza who accompanied him to the Martyrs Graveyard at Reshi Bazaar, Islamabad where they offered prayers for the Martyrs of 1931 and the martyrs of the ongoing resistance movement and paid rich tributes to them.He said Kashmiris had rendered selfless sacrifices of their lives and properties and now needed to keep the resistance movement going.Hurriyat (M) Chairman said the people needed to remain focused and steadfast in their resolve to take the Kashmir issue to its logical conclusion and not get disheartened by the prolonging of the resistance struggle.

He said there was no need for people to be dejected and the international and regional situation was encouraging for the resolution of Kashmir.Mirwaiz later visited the residences of two martyred youth of Bijbehara, Nazir Ahmad Bhat and Adil Ahmad Sheikh, who were killed in a gunfight with Indian forces at Aishmuqam where he expressed his sympathies with the bereaved families.Speaking to the aging fathers of the martyred youth and their other family members, he paid glowing tributes to them and said these sacrifices were the real treasures of the resistance movement and Kashmiris needed to values these pearls and gems.

Hurriyat (M) Chairman expressed his solidarity with these families and said that the martyred youth despite facing difficulties and hardships ensure that the resistance movement continued with all its vigor.He said now it was the responsibility of the entire nation, people as well as the leadership, to safeguard these sacrifices and not rest until the movement reaches its logical conclusion.Mirwaiz said besides India, the pro-India parties of Kashmir were contributing to the oppression and suppression of the Kashmiri people as their only desire was to cling to power.He said they did not care anything about the people of Kashmir and were will to sacrifice them for fulfilling their nefarious designs.
