Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Choudhary Lal Singh convened a meeting to review the functioning of health department at Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar here today.Secretary Health and Medical Education Department Mandeep K Bhandari, Director Health Services Dr. Baljeet Singh Pathania, Director Family Welfare Dr. Baldev Raj Sharma and Mission Director NHM Dr. Mohan Singh were present in the meeting.The Minister took a detailed review of the physical and financial achievements made by the department in the division.Underscoring the need for providing better healthcare facilities to patients, the Minister directed the Medical Superintendents, Chief Medical Officers and Block Medical Officers of Jammu division to ensure the availability of doctors and paramedical staff at their respective headquarters .Choudhary Lal Singh said that providing modern healthcare facilities to the people of the State tops the agenda of the government and in this regard infrastructure upgradation has already been initiated especially in rural areas.The Minister instructed Chief Medical Officers to keep close vigil on the works being carried out in their districts besides frequently inspecting the functioning of the hospitals.
