Minister of State for Finance & Information Technology, Pawan Kumar Gupta today paid visit to Adarsh Colony and Gole Market of Udhampur Town to inspect and monitor the black topping work going on in the area.The Minister said that nearly 45 km long stretch is being black topped and work is simultaneously going on at different roads across the city. He said that massive macadamization programme has begun across the town with the improvement in weather conditions and would continue till the weather permits.During the inspection of black topping of city roads, the Minister gave necessary instructions to the engineers of PWD and instructed them to strictly follow fresh specifications for upgradation of roads to ensure durability.
Mr. Gupta said that Government is committed for improvising the infrastructure in the state.
For the purpose various other roads adjoining to the town would also be taken for their improvement and upgradation in near future.People of the town thanked the Minister for fulfillment of their demand of construction of road and expressed satisfaction over the quality of work. The people of Adarsh Colony brought the problems being faced by them into the notice of the minister and demanded repair of main nallah and construction of approach road connecting NH to colony.The Minister instructed the engineers of PWD to prepare detailed project report for repair of nallah and asked to prepare a detail feasibility report for the construction of said approach road. He also instructed officers of Municipal Council Udhampur to shift the dumping site near CMO office to old Sabzi Mandi.
