Terming the welfare measures launched by the present government as path-breaking initiatives, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain, Political Advisor to PDP President today said the state government has, during the past nine months, made remarkable progress in many fields, especially in public services, welfare and on development front.“The ground-breaking initiatives like implementation of NFSA, Marriage Assistance Scheme for Poor Girls, Laadli Beti, Aasra and Hunnar, launched by the Government are going to go a long way in alleviating the economic condition of the state’s marginalized and underprivileged population,” Peerzada Mansoor said while addressing a PDP workers’ convention at Kawrigam in Shangus constituency here.
Mansoor said credit goes to this Government for pioneering these historic social security schemes aimed at providing social protection to the poorest of the poor.Mansoor also hailed the Government’s decision to setup two Cluster Universities and two Engineering Colleges in the State, which, he said would not only create job opportunities but offer new avenues of formal and technical education to the local youth. “Similarly, new initiatives have been set off by the Government in Rural Development and R&B sectors which are transforming the developmental landscape of the State,” he said.Mansoor said these initiatives remind us of 2002-2005 era of PDP-led coalition government when Jammu and Kashmir witnessed significant transformation on security, developmental and economic fronts.
He said the time is not far away when J&K would again become a hub of peace and prosperity under the visionary leadership of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.“The most significant achievement of this Government is that it not only has almost cleared the liabilities worth hundreds of crores left behind by the previous NC-Congress regime, but has kick-started noteworthy developmental initiatives across the State within the shortest possible time,” he said and added that the developmental freeze that was rampant during the past 6 years has been done away with and people have started acknowledging the good work being done on the ground.
Expressing dismay over the dilapidated condition of the Anantnag-Achabal Road, Mansoor demanded its immediate upgradation to save the commuters from the inconvenience they have to witness every day. He also demanded speedy construction of Thajiwara-Chattergul Road via Rainipora-Dethu.Mansoor also demanded upgradation of tourism infrastructure at Chattapal, Shangus, a virgin area which has huge potential for attracting tourists if there is adequate infrastructure.
