Criticizing all pro India Political Parties of the being opportunistic and playing with the sentiments of people of Kashmir, Chairman Hurriyat (M), Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Sunday said all these parties talk in a different tone when in the opposition and make a U-turn when they come to power. Criticizing particularly the National Conference and PDP Mirwaiz said that when these parties are in opposition then all of a sudden autonomy and aspirations of the people of Kashmir start paining them but when come to power they become the worst oppressors and usurpers of the rights and freedoms of the people.

Lashing out at the double standards of National Conference Mirwaiz said that this party these days is touting much about the freedom and autonomy but when it was in power it indulged in the worst type of state terrorism, killing hundreds of Kashmiri youth and  involved in worst type of Human Rights violation.

In the same manner when PDP was out of power it would repeatedly talk of healing touch and end of Black Laws like AFSPA from Kashmir but now when it is in power, to the contrary its government is trying all means to push the Resistance Leadership and Youth to the wall. They are repeatedly arresting or put in House arrest thereby restricting them from carrying out their political, social and religious duties and activities. This was stated by the Mirwaiz while addressing an impressive gathering at a function organized by the Islamia High School Nusrat-ul-Islam Trust at Shajipora, Islamabad, where the Mirwaiz handed over cash cheques to dozens of flood-affected people of south Kashmir, he termed it as politics of deceit, and further said, PDP which was talking of applying a healing touch to the wounds of the people of Kashmir in the opposition had joined hands with a Hindutva party like Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and its allies like RSS and Bhajrang Dal and were now talking their language, arresting innocent Kashmiri youth and placing curbs on the activities of the resistance leaders.

After distributing food items and medicines among the flood-affected people of south Kashmir’s districts during September 2014 devastating floods, Dar-ul-Khair Mirwaiz Manzil led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Sunday reached out to the affected people of Islamabad and Kulgam districts for rehabilitating them and handed over cash cheques to them. The program at Islamabad was attended by respected citizens of the area and civil society activists who appreciated the role being played by the Dar-ul-Khair Mirwaiz Manzil in absence of government relief and help coming their way during the past more than a year now.Highlighting the charity and reformer role being played by the Dar-ul-Khair Mirwaiz Manzil, the Mirwaiz said as per the Islamic teachings and the path shown to the Muslims by Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Muslims are duty bound to take care of their fellow beings in suffering. He also appreciated the entire Kashmiri nation for standing up to help one another in times of the devastating calamity like the September 2014 floods and at other times of crisis.

The Mirwaiz said Kashmiri nation had been subjected to severe hardships during the past few decades but the people had shown strong will, courage and determination to tide over any crisis when the governments had failed them to come to their rescue even during the devastating September 2014 floods.

He promised that Dar-ul-Khair Mirwaiz Manzil would do it’s best to rehabilitate the flood-affected people and called upon philanthropists and people willing to help others to come forward and join hands with them to rehabilitate the flood victims.Later the Mirwaiz announced Rs 5.50 lakh for the construction of the Islamia School Bijbehara, which is run by the Anjuman-e-Nusrat and was severely affected by last year’s floods.Earlier, the Dar-ul-Khair Mirwaiz Manzil Srinagar after distributing food and other essential commodities including medicines to the September 2014 flood-affected people had handed over residential houses constructed under the ‘Ak Akis’ initiative to the people from Gow Kadal, Mandir Bagh, Maisuma and Chattabal areas who were left homeless after their houses were damaged in the devastating floods.

Dar-ul-Khair Mirwaiz Manzil Srinagar is also constructing houses for the flood-affected people of Batamaloo that would be handed over to the flood-hit people as soon as the constructions are completed. The flood-affected people had been pointed out to Dar-ul-Khair Mirwaiz Manzil Srinagar by the local Masjid Committee Intizamia and the construction of more such houses is underway and these houses would soon be handed over to them. While the government failed to rehabilitate the flood victims during the past more than a year, the Dar-ul-Khair Mirwaiz Manzil Srinagar decided to reach out to districts other than Srinagar too.
