A deputation of casual laborers of soil conservation department working in Baghilar catchment area of District Doda and Ramban called upon MLA Doda Mr Shakti Raj Parihar and submitted a memorandum of their demands .During interaction with MLA deputation apprised the MLA that they have been working as casual laborers in the department from last 10 years and since then they have been deprived from seeking benefits under MGNREGA, Unemployment benefit schemes, labor card etc .They also apprised the MLA that with this meager salary they are unable to meet the basic requirements of their families specially educational needs of their wards
Deputation also apprised the MLA that they have presented their case for regularization to project officer Soil conservation Baghilar catchment area but their grievances have not been redressed.MLA apprised the Minister of forest, Ecology and Environment Mr Bali Bhagat about the genuine demands projected. He also brought the matter in notice of Director Soil conservation Jammu and Chief Engineer Baghilar who assured timely release of their salaries besides assuring that the process for the regularization of the casual laborers will be expedited.
