Member of Parliament Shamsher Singh Manhas today chaired a meeting to review the ongoing development works being executed by Jammu Municipal Corporation. MLA Jammu West Sat Paul Sharma, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation Manpreet Kaur, Director Floriculture K K Sharma, Director Tourism R K Verma and Joint Commissioner JMC R S Jamwal were present in the meeting.The MP discussed with the Director Floriculture various modalities related to development and beautification of pond at Paloura. It was decided in the meeting that JMC Commissioner would be the nodal officer of the project and will monitor the ongoing works related to the development of pond.Meanwhile, a new proposal was mooted in the meeting envisaging maintenance of parks by resident welfare associations in their areas.The MP instructed the JMC to repair all the defunct street lights and install new lights in every nook and corner of the city. He asked UEED to start work on drains in Krishna Nagar, panama Chowk and Bakshi Nagar.
