Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday lashed out at National Conference leadership for “preaching secessionism” out of power. In a statement to KNS, the BJP spokesman Khalid Jehangir, while taking a dig at senior NC leader Dr Mustafa Kamaal, said, “When NC was in power Kamaal never spoke about Azadi and freedom. Out of power Kamaal is preaching secessionism and is claiming Azadi is the only option.”The BJP spokesman said, “People of Kashmir still remember former Chief Ministers Bakshi Ghulam Mohammad and Mir Qasim for their selfless service and they remaining firm on their stand. They never double crossed the people by showing them false dreams NC leaders on the other hand always misled the masses for serving their own vested interests.”

Jehangir alleged, “NC leaders, including Abdullah family, amassed huge wealth and built mansions when they were in power. Out of power same leaders, who filled their coffers by extracting money from Centre, start talking about Azadi and freedom. It’s due to these leaders Jammu and Kashmir couldn’t prosper like other states of India.”The BJP spokesman said, “NC leaders cannot mislead the people anymore as they stand exposed before the masses. People know it very well that they don’t practice what they preach and change their colours like chameleon.” (KNS)
