Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, today conducted an extensive visit of Nanak Nagar area to take stock progress of developmental works being executed in the area.Interacting with the people, the Speaker informed that about 14000 electric poles would be installed in the area for further strengthening of electric network during the current fiscal.Kavinder said that said our priority is to ensure comprehensive development of the state by roping in all the available resources so that people could reap the results to the optimum.The main demands put forth by the locals included repair and modernisation of local nallah, renovation and black topping of main road of Nanak Nagar, repairing of lanes and drains,  renovation and removal of encroachments along nallah side besides early replacement of damaged electric poles and repairing of street lights.

 Responding to local demand about accelerating cleanliness drive in the area, Speaker directed the concerned to gear up their efforts and expedite the drive to   ensure removal of garbage and related waste material along roadside before commencement of monsoon. He said that efforts are also afoot to upgrade drainage system to get rid of water logging problem during upcoming rainy season in the area.The Speaker assured the people that their genuine demands will be looked into for an early reressal.Among others, Mr. Baldev Singh Bilowria, S Amrik Singh, Vikramjeet Singh, other senior leaders, prominent citizens besides locals were also present on the occasion.
