Appealing Security agencies either to call off their operation or allow them to graze their cattle in nearby forests, the people from Hajinaka and its adjacent villages Monday said that their life has become hell from past two weeks as security personnel force them to stay confined in their houses owing to the search operation to flush out ‘militants’ in the area.Pertinently, the army operation against the possible presence of militants in Hajinaka,  Manigah and its adjacent areas has been going on from past two weeks. The operation was launched after a patrolling party from Indian Army recovered a dead body of a militant in Army fatigue. One militant has been killed so far during the operation.

The locals from Manigah, Hajinaka, Birambal, Sabhaya, Soniwali, Glassdaji, Sohipora, Shatpora, Mirnag and Hummandar informed CNS that they are not being allowed to venture out from their houses while their cattle is dying due to lack of fodder. “There seems to be no end to our worries. We have been suffering and appeal to Government to either allow us to venture out from our houses or put an end to this operation,” they said wishing not be named.

“Our livelihood largely depends on cattle rearing, which has not been possible for the past two weeks. There is a war-like situation and even our houses are being searched on daily basis,” they said and alleged that even during night hours they are being dragged from their houses and their houses are searched.
