While the Valley is witnessing day to day protests over the release of youth who have been arrested over alleged stone pelting, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday said that no stone pelter is at present under custody in Juvenile home.Addressing a gathering here outside PDP Headquarters, Mehbooba said she was glad to see that no stone pelter was imprisoned in the Juvenile home.Mehbooba said that the present regime is trying its level best to secure the future of hundreds of youth who are currently wandering for jobs. “Guns, stone pelting won’t prove fruitful to them (youth). It can harm the future of youth,” she said.“Our policy is to scrap the Public Safety Act (PSA), stop bullets, and pellets. We want to secure the future of youth in every aspect. We want to see our youth on a high profile,” she added.

She said that they have charged Udhampur attackers on Kashmir truckers and the cop involved in firing bullets to a youth in Bemina.“What should we do to the youth who are throwing stones on civilians giving them tough time?” she questioned.“By pasting posters on walls for hartal gives a tough time to the poor community here. It cannot prove fruitful to the state of Jammu and Kashmir,” she said. “I wish for the better relationship between the two neighboring countries,” she said.Mehbooba said that dialogue between India and Pakistan was the only solution of peace. “Until and unless peace won’t come, issues will remain unresolved,” she said.Giving a brief information about the tourism department, Mehbooba said that currently they have earned almost Rs 2500 crore from the Tourism sector and with the same they are trying to give its benefits to the jobless youth.

She said that Chief Minister of the state, Mufti Muhammad Sayeed is trying his level best to provide benefit to the people of Kashmir, “He went from pillar to post and urge the authorities of other states to open their industries or other related things in Kashmir as well so that a large number of educated unemployed youth of the state will take benefits.”Appealing people to have patience, Mehbooba said, “’Humari Gaadi ab Shuru Huwi’ (our journey starts now) we are on the way to provide each and every benefit to the people of Kashmir in the upcoming period.”She said that there are a few districts where ‘Laadli Beti’ scheme was launched (The scheme was not for Srinagar but after Mufti Sahab’s intervention we launched it in Srinagar too.”Mehbooba further said that this scheme is going to secure the future of thousands of girls after the age of 21.Among others Nizam-ud-din Bhat, Zafar Mehraj, Nayeema Mehjoor, Khursheed Aalam, Aabid Ansari, Anjum Fazili were also present in the convention.
