Awami Itehaad Party (AIP) President and MLA Langate, Engineer Abdul Rashid Saturday asked New Delhi to establish IIT, IIM and AIIin Kashmir.Addressing a news conference here, Engineer Rashid said that central government should not snatch establishing IIT, IIM and AIIin Kashmir like they snatched autonomy and self rule.Rashid said that Kashmir is the better place where IIT, IIM and AIIneed to be established. “The education and health related facilities in Kashmir are not satisfactory thereby Kashmiris need such kind of facilities in every aspect and should not be deprived by the central government,” MLA Langate said.“We are not against establishing any institution in Jammu province but it should not be done at the cost of interests of Kashmir and while establishing IIT, IIM and AIIin Jammu province the interests of Pirpanchal and Chenab regions should not be ignored as usual,” Rashid added and said that people of Chenab and Pirpanchal regions have been always deprived and ignored by the successive regimes.

He further added that he will visit Chenab Valley from Monday on wards to take stock of various political and other issues in the region.Rashid while condemning the central government’s approach of depriving Kashmir from IIT and IIM appealed all political, social, trade, and other organizations to form a joint strategy to force New Delhi to establish IIT, IIM and AIIMS Kashmir.“We are sending invitations to all political parties besides, Valley based MPs, civil society, trade organizations, bar association and other organizations to attended an all parties meet in Srinagar on 28th November to evolve a consensus as how to force New Delhi to establish these prestigious institutions in Kashmir,” he said.Meanwhile, Rashid also criticized state govt. for failing to release salaries of SSA teachers and demanded resignation of education minister Nayeem Akhter for his incompetence to resolve the genuine issues of teachers and deteriorating work culture in JKBOSE.
