Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today announced that the state government would provide a job in keeping with the educational qualifications to one family member of the victims of firing tragedy, Gurjit Singh and Krishan Bhagwan Singh who were killed in village Bargari recently.During his visits to village Sarawaan and Behbal khurd today, Deputy Chief Minister expressed profound grief over the tragic deaths of the 2 youths. He assured the families of both the victims that whoever is found guilty in the firing incident, would be dealt with in accordance with provisions of law. He also assured both the families that Shiromani Akali Dal would always stand by the distressed families in their hour of need.

Expressing deep shock over the recent incidents of sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Deputy CM said that certain anti-Punjab forces are at play to vitiate the atmosphere of the state through such heinous incidents but their evil intentions won’t be allowed to succeed. He said that the sentiment of communal harmony among the people of Punjab is fully intact and they would give a strong reply to such anti-Punjab forces.Conceding a demand of the villagers Mr Badal also announced setting up of a community centre with modern amenities at a cost of Rs. 60 Lakh at Village Sarawaan in the memory of Gurjit Singh. He also gave a check of Rs. 1 Lakh to the family of Beant Singh who was injured in the firing incident and said that the district administration would bear the cost of his treatment. Mr Badal also assured to fulfill the demands of the panchayats of both villages.

On this occasion, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mantar Singh Brar, MLA Faridkot Deep Malhotra, Parkash Singh Bhatti, Chairman Youth Development Board Parambans Singh Bunty Romana, DC Malwinder Singh Jaggi, SSP Sukhminder Singh Maan, DIG Amar Singh Chahal, Chairman District Planning Board Harjit Singh Bholuwala, Chairman PRTC Avtar Singh Brar, Chairman Market Committee Faridkot Gurtej Singh Gill, former member Rajya Sabha Gurcharan Kaur Panjgarain, Member SGPC Gurbinder Kaur, and panchayats of both the villages were also present.
