In order to receive appraisal of execution of developmental programmes in Nowshera , MLA Ravinder Raina today convened a high level meeting of district and sectoral officers and reviewed the progress achieved under State, District and Centrally Sponsored Schemes.The district officers gave a detailed resume of the achievements registered under State Plan and Centrally Sponsored Schemes. Progress of all the departments which are operating in Nowshera constituency was reviewed in the meeting.The MLA held open deliberations with the participants to know the ground realities of the school infrastructure, staff position and implementation of Mid-day Meal Scheme, disbursement of scholarship and availability of basic minimum facilities like furniture, building, drinking, water and toilets in the schools. He also reviewed the schemes of SSA and RMSA.
While reviewing the working of health department, MLA directed CMO Rajouri to immediately take steps to make functional ultrasound machine at sub-district hospital, Nowshera besides ensuring upgraded facilities in PHCs Lamberi, Laroka, Langar and Seri.He also issued instructions to the officers of agriculture department to provide technical assistance to farmers by organizing awareness camps and Kissan Melas besides providing them timely seeds and fertilizers. In addition to this, General Manager, Industries was asked to prepare a comprehensive project for establishment of industrial estate at Lamberi and Thanamandi.
Meanwhile, Raina exhorted upon the officers to evolve effective monitoring mechanism and take innovative measures for implementation of Centrally and State sponsored schemes at grass-root level to ensure equitable development. He stressed upon the officers concerned to conduct extensive tours on regular intervals to personally monitor ongoing development projects in their respective districts so that the benefit of the same would percolate to the people especially living in rural pocket. He also directed the officers to furnish monthly / quarterly physical and financial performance.Among others, SDM, Nowshera, Harbans Sharma, Chief Agriculture Officer, Mohd, Young, Chief Horticulture Officer, Yougesh Kesar, General Manager, Industries, Sheraz Malik, CMO and other district and sectoral officers attended the meeting.
