Minister of State for Industries and Commerce, Power Development and Housing & Urban Development, Mohammad Ashraf Mir today toured Sonwar constituency and visited various areas including Nishat, Dalgate, Sonwar, Athwajan and Balhama.During the tour the Minister visited Primary Health Centre Brein Nishat, where he instructed the officers from Department of Roads and Buildings to start work for the expansion of the centre.From there he went to Buchwara, Dalgate. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone. The Minister asked the Deputy Commissioner to ensure construction work of community hall in the area gets started at the earliest. He also visited Government Boys Middle school Drugjan, Dalgate.
For the construction of community hall, fair price shop, and children’s park, the Minister asked the Deputy Commissioner to start earth filling work on the land in Iqbal Colony, Sonwar at the earliest.Later Mir along with the Deputy Commissioner, and Chief Engineer, Irrigation and Flood Control visited Naaz Colony in Athwajan. To address the canal water flowing problem through the colony, the Minister asked the officers to prepare a proper drainage project. He also issued instructions to remove all the encroachments on Sempora canal and called for its immediate drudging.The Minister finished his tour by visiting Balhama. Taking immediate cognizance of peoples demand, the Minister directed the Deputy Commissioner to prepare a plan for the reconstruction of 70-year-old Imam Bargah in the area.
