Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Samoon, Wedneday visited various places along Srinagar-Banihal section of the National Highway and reviewed pace of work on the four- laning of the highway.During the visit to various critical sections of the National Highway including Sangam and Pantha Chowk and some areas of South Kashmir, Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned officers for removal of various bottle necks hindering construction work on the National Highway.He also stressed on adequate compensation for the displaced people and directed Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag to expedite process of land acquisition in Anantnag district.

Directing officials of the executing agency to complete black-topping at all busy sections at the earliest, the Commissioner said that until construction work is complete, proper make-shift routes must be provided to people living on either side of the Highway.The officials informed Mr. Samoon that work on acquisition of majority of structures and land coming under road-widening project has been completed.Earlier at Pantha Chowk, Div Com directed revenue and police officers to remove all hurdles in road widening at the Chowk for smooth traffic movement.He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioners of Anantnag and Pulwama districts along with other concerned officers during the visit.
