The CPI-M on Tuesday flayed the Narendra Modi government for easing foreign direct investment (FDI) across 15 sectors, dubbing the move as the wish of the corporate sector. The major reform across sectors like mining, civil aviation, defence, broadcasting and construction comes two days after the BJP suffered a crushing defeat in the Bihar assembly polls."This is precisely the wish of the corporate sector. Even after such a huge defeat in Bihar, immediately this corporate sector has been telling Modi needs to concentrate on reforms," CPI-M Rajya Sabha member Ritabrata Banerjee said. The Communist Party of India-Marxist leader said the Modi government was living in denial."Unfortunately, after such a stupendous mandate by the people of Bihar, the government is in a denial mode, and is going with 100 percent FDI in 15 sectors. It is most unfortunate."I am sure, as the people of Bihar have given a reply, people of the country too will give a befitting rebuff to the policies of the Modi government," added Banerjee.
