03 bodies recovered in Srinagar

Srinagar police recovered three bodies including a female body from Batamaloo, Lal Chowk and Hyderpora areas after locals of these areas informed.

A police spokesman in a statement issued here said that a body was recovered near Tengpora in the jurisdiction of Police Station Batamaloo. The body was later identified as Abdul Rashid Sodagar son of Abdul Ahad resident of Nundresh Colony-A, Bemina, Srinagar.After completion of legal medico formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites, he said.Another body was recovered from Yatra Niwas, Lal Chowk, Srinagar in the jurisdiction of Police Station Maisuma. The body was later identified as Mahesh Chand son of Punju Soini resident of Utrakhand. The deceased was employee of Beacon, he said.A female body was recovered beneath the Ply-over Hyderpora in the jurisdiction of Police Station Sadder. The deceased was seems to be mentally unsound and non-state subject, he said.Srinagar police has registered cases and initiate proceedings under section 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause of these deaths. The two bodies of Mahesh Chand and unidentified female are in Mortuary at Pantha Chowk, he added. (GNS)
