Punjab Scheduled Castes Commission chairman Mr Rajesh Bagha has urged the today’s generation to learn from the teachings of our great martyrs and freedom fighters like Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Lala Hardyal, besides others. Mr Bagha was speaking at a function organised by a Press Club, here today.While addressing the gathering, Mr Bagha said that today’s generation is leading a fast life but they should also read the writings of our great martyrs and freedom fighters. He said that he would write to the Punjab government that they should introduce the writings of martyrs and freedom fighters in the syllabus in schools and colleges.

Bagha also gave a call to bring equality to the society and not divide it through caste system. He said that youngsters can bring a change in the society by changing their mindset and said that it is possible only if they read more and more literature. Sharing his life experiences, Mr Bagha said that whatever he is today is only because of literature and said that we should inculcate reading habits amongst today’s youth.He also said that Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha was a martyr, a freedom fighter, a writer as well as a journalist. He urged the journalists to work hard with utmost devotion and honesty because people actually believe what they write. He urged them to highlight the plight of common man without any fear.Mr Rajesh Bagha was also honoured on the occasion.
