District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Shabir Ahmed Bhat who is also District Registrar of Citizens Registration (DRCR) convened a meeting of all the district and sectoral officers regarding updation of the National Population Register (NPR) and seeding Aadhar in the database here today as the updating exercise will commence at district level from 16th of November, 2015.Elaborating the process of updation, the DDC said that it is an exercise set out to integrate Aadhaar with the National Population Register in order to avoid any duplication in collection of biometric details. He further said that after the house to house check ,it will become clear that how many people still do not have an aadhar number and are yet to provide their biometrics to either NPR or UIDAI. He said that this updated NPR database alongwith Aadhar number would become the mother database and can be used by various government departments for selection of beneficiaries under their respective schemes.
He directed the concerned tehsildar to ensure that all enumerator should undergo training as per the tehsil wise training schedule on 9th, 10th , 12th and 13th of November, 2015 in order to expedite the process of updation of NPR -Aadhaar in the database. In the meantime, he asked concerned officers to organize awareness camps to ensure the maximum people's participation in NPR updation.The meeting was attended by Additional District Registrar of Citizens Registration, Ch. Mumtaz Ali, ACR , Paramjeet singh, Sub District Registrar of Citizens Registration, Additional Sub -District Registrar of Citizens Registration and Local Registrar of Citizens Registration .
