To review the arrangements for the celebration of annual Urs Mubarak of Shah Farid-ud –Din sahib (RA) to be celebrated on 10th November 2015 and Diwali to be celebrated on 11th November 2015. a meeting of District officers, Representative of Auqaf, Sanatan Dharm Sabha Kishtwar and prominent citizens was today chaired by District Development commissioner Kishtwar, Mr Ghulam Nabi Balwan.During the meeting a detailed discussion was held for the smooth celebration of both the festivals in the District. XEn PHE division Kishtwar was asked to ensure safe drinking water for devotees at the shrines of Astan Bala and Astan Pani, besides arranging drinking water at prominent places .To ensure hassle free movement of devotees in and around the shrine especially during late hours the job of repair and replacement of non- functional street lights in the town and in the adjoining areas of the shrine was assigned to Executive Office Municipality Kishtwar . He was further directed to ensure cleanliness of the roads and streets in the town and lime lining the roads leading towards the shrine.
Chief Executive Officer Kishtwar Development authority was instructed to take up repair and replacement of street lights and high mass lights around the Chowgan ground. Mr Balwan also informed that the devotees are pouring in from different parts of the country for the Urs festival and asked for adequate facilities and proper management of traffic in the Town. ARTO Kishtwar was directed to ensure sufficient deployment of buses for the smooth to and fro movement of devotees during Urs Mubarak. DC further issued directions for the activation of market checking squads and directed them to intensify the checking of quality , quantity and prices of essential commodities supplied to the consumers.Instructions were also given to XEn PDD Kishtwar for maintaining un- interrupted power supply to both the shrines and town. To tackle any medical emergency CMO Kishtwar was impressed upon to keep the ambulance along with medical team ready at both the shrines and at the places thronged by the devotees.Arrangements regarding the Stock and supply of ration, LPG Cylinders, construction of temporary toilets during Urs Mubarak etc were also reviewed and necessary directions were passed to the concerned.
