The District Development Commissioner Srinagar convened a meeting to review the progress achieved in respect of the schemes and works under District Plan 2015-16, State Plan, Special Area Development Programme, Centrally Sponsored Schemes and Flagship Programmes in District Srinagar.While conducting the review, it was revealed that under District Plan, about 50% of the allocation available for the Current Financial Year 2015-16 has been booked ending September 2015. Under R&B Sector 29 ongoing schemes have been completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 95.43 lakh, while as the work on 46 new schemes taken up at an estimated cost of Rs. 192.46 lakh is in progress. Under NARBARD RIDF XX, 5 new schemes at a total estimated cost of Rs.1264.34 lakh are under execution.

Under Special Area Development Programme 2015-16, out of 120 schemes with an estimated cost of Rs. 88.35 crore, 73 works stand completed at a cost of Rs. 7.52 crore, the work on remaining 47 schemes is in progress. Besides, 35 Community halls taken up at an estimated cost of Rs. 65.51 crores are under progress with an expenditure of Rs. 35.99 crore out of which 10 Community Halls have been completed, which will be inaugurated and dedicated to the public of Srinagar by the end of this month.The District Development Commissioner asked the executing agencies to accelerate the pace of work and ensure completion of the projects within the Financial Year 2015-16.
