To review the performance of various departments during current financial year, Deputy commissioner Kishtwar, Ghulan Nabi Balwan today chaired a meeting of the officers of Public Health Engineering (PHE) and Power Development Departments (PDD) in the conference Hall at Deputy Commissioner office, here today.Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar , Kishori lal Sharma; Chief Planning officer Kishtwar, Dr. Yasir Balwan, besides SE, E &RE; Executive Engineer PDD and other sectoral officers attended the review meeting.Detailed deliberations were held on the functioning of all 48 water supply schemes in the District. DC was apprised by Executive Engineer PHE that the tenders for the third water lift project from river Chenab have been floated and this additional lift scheme will solve water crisis to a greater extent.
On the issue of supply of treated water for drinking purposes, Balwan was also informed about the proposed water filtration plant in the town .Expressing his deep concerns over the slow progress on the much awaited 32 Km Naigad water supply Scheme to the town which will supply 7 lakh gallons water per day, DC asked Executive Engineer PHE to take this project on top priority and its operationalization is believed to solve water crisis in and around the town.Further, the directions were passed for rational distribution of water, minimizing the wastage of water by plugging the leakages and supplying the water on the notified time.During the meeting, DC was apprised about the various demands of the of Power development department including the staff shortage, less capacity of power workshop and shortage on transformers in the pool for replacement during any damage which DC assured will be taken up with higher authorities for the redressal.
