Minister for Social Welfare, Forest, Ecology and Environment, Bali Bhagat today inaugurated Rs.2.5 crore blacktopping cum re-surfacing works of Mishri Wala to Jhiri road.After inaugurating the macadamization work from Mishri Wala, Bali congratulated the people of the area and said that the Government has been according top priority to developing new infrastructure and focused attention is being paid on upgradation of existing roads in the state.The Minister said that during the last six months, unprecedented development has been witnessed in the three region of the state. He said that during this small period several projects pertaining to R&B, PHE, Health, Social Welfare and Education have been taken up and stress is being laid on creating durable assets for providing better amenities to the people.He said that in Raipora Domana, the macadamization of 65 km of road length will be taken up and the department has been directed to make optimum use of funds and complete the projects within time frame period.He urged the people to personally monitor the development work being executed in their respective areas.    

The Minister also informed that the re-surfacing programme of Jammu has been taken in hand and there is proposal of about 500 km road length to be macadamized during the current financial year. Bali said that it’s an endeavor of the coalition government to create better infrastructural facilities and working environment in all the government departments enabling the officers/officials to perform their duties more efficiently. He said that better environment in the office is must for achieving the desired goals and better services delivery.Later, the Minister inaugurated one-day awareness camp under Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) organized by Rural Development Department at Government High School, Seri Panditan and distributed cheques worth Rs. 5 lakh among  40 beneficiaries under SBM.

The Minister also laid foundation stone of land leveling and boundary wall works at GHS, Seri Panditan. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the developmental activities initiated by the government have changed the socio-economic profile of the people of the state especially those living in hilly and far flung areas.He further said that the people’s participation is imperative for the development of the state. The Minister said that the government is making all out efforts in providing better educational facilities and asked the students to work hard and achieve excellence in anything that they do. He urged upon the younger generation to participate in co-curricular activities as they are essential for making the students physically and mentally fit. Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B), engineers and senior officers of concerned departments, Tehsildar Balwal, Block Development Officer, sarpanchs and panches were also present on the occasion.
