Thousands of workers of the Shiromani Akali Dal from across the district today prayed to the Almighty to give them strength and courage to unitedly defeat the nefarious designs of anti national forces who were hell bent on destroying peace and communal harmony in Punjab.Led by the SAD Amritsar unit, akali leaders including General Secretary Bikram Singh Majithia, senior leader Gulzar Singh Ranike, SAD Amritsar Rural President Veer Singh Lopoke and legislators Bonny Ajnala,   Baljit Singh Jalal Usman and the party cadres while seeking the blessings of the guru, also urged all right thinking people to defeat the designs of anti national elements to divide Punjabis. They also vowed to take these anti national elements head on and not let them cause any harm to the social fabric of the State. The party workers also overwhelmingly announced to stamp out forces, who were conspired to scuttle the development process in the State.

Expressing grief for the gravest crime committed by anti-national forces, the cadre said they had always sought guidance from S. Parkash Singh Badal, Chief Minister Punjab, who in his 65 year long political career had always fought to protect the Panthic and democratic forces. They asserted Mr Badal was known as the biggest proponent of peace and communal harmony. The cadre also pledged to strengthen the hands of Mr Parkash Singh Badal and the SAD President S. Sukhbir Singh Badal, both of whom were working day and night to expose the vicious designs of such forces.Speaking on the sidelines of the congregation S. Bikram Singh Majithia said the SAD had always waged a war against such anti-social elements, who with the backing of certain frustrated and defeated political elements were fomenting trouble in Punjab. He said the people of the State were well aware as to who was responsible for the 20 year long trouble in the state that had led to loss of more than 30000 lives and would not allow such forces make brother fight against brother again. " I understand that the provocations have been severe but now we must all come together as Punjabis and defeat those who are seeking to destroy Punjab and Punjabiat", he added.
