On the 84th birth anniversary of  Bharat Ratan and former President of India  Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Kumar Singh and Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga today paid tributes to the great leader at a function held at Integrated Industrial Centre (IID), SICOP, Govindsar, here at Kathua.Remembering the former President on his birth anniversary, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal singh paid glowing tributes to A P J Abdul Kalam  and said that Kalam always looked for “challenges” and his life is a source of inspiration for all Indians.Hailing the former president’s rich contribution, Dr. Singh said that the void left by his death can only be filled by following his teachings in true spirit. Jammu and Kashmir Government is in the initial phase of governance and the alliance is for good and effective governance and not for political aspirations, he added.

 Dr Singh said that there is demand for 24 hours power supply for Industries and assured them that the Government is committed to provide basic facilities to the industrialists along with 24 hours power supply.

He said that the Government is to ensure equitable development of all the three regions of this state, adding that number of projects including construction of Delhi –Amritsar – Katra Expressway which will augment tourism in this state.Throwing light on the life and achievements of Kalam, famously known as “ Missile man of India “ , Ganga said that his life is inspiration for whole of the nation adding that country will remain indebted for his contributions.

He further said that he listened to the problems of Industrialists and the Government is committed to resolve their problems at the earliest . “Every department should work in tandem to bring development to this state along with strong will power of the officers”, said Ganga.While addressing the audience, Chander Prakash told the audience that the presentation given by the students on this occasion was wonderful and applauded the singer and artists for their performances.President Industries Association , Kathua , Devender Verma apprised the ministers of various problems faced by the industrialists and demanded un interrupted power supply along with repair of PDD infrastructure at old Kathua Industrial Area. School children of various government schools exhibited various models on waste management, integrated organic farming, global warming and disaster management.
