Minister for Public Works, Floriculture, and Parks Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari in presence of Minister for PHE Sukhnandan Kumar today laid foundation stone for 10 km long upgradation work of main road Marh Gajansoo from Sangrampur to Gajansoo.The Sangrampur to Gajansoo road, sanctioned under Central Road Fund, would be completed with an estimated cost of Rs. 19.90 crore and would benefit about 40,000 souls of the area.It was informed that the upgradation work will include construction of 40 meter span double lane pre-stressed cement concrete bridge at karloop, construction of 2 double lane vented causeways, road widening, RBM filling and wet mix Machadam on  widening area,  etc.Altaf Bukhari, while addressing the local people, said that the coalition government headed by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is determined for overall development of the State at all sectors. He further said that the stress is being laid on expanding road network to every unconnected area of the state to bring them at par with other developed areas.

The Minister instructed the Chief Engineer PWD to complete the upgradation work of Sangrampur to Gajansoo road within next 15 months instead of fixed two year timeline. He informed that a comprehensive project proposal is being formulated for construction of Bhagatpur to Suhanjana bridge on River Tawi which will involve an estimated cost of Rs. 130 crore. He announced black-topping of Marh to Baba Talab via Jaswan and allied link, the work on which would be started soon.   

The Minister said that the government is committed for overall development of the area by providing improved basic facilities to the people at their doorsteps.

Speaking on the occasion, Sukhnandan congratulated the local people for upgradation work of Sangrampur to Gajansoo road which was a long pending demand of the people of the area. He added that this road would provide connectivity to Sangrampur, Udheywalla, Mera Mandlik, Nagbani Marh Karloop, Gajansoo, Chinore Farm, Gangoo Chak, Saharan, Chakrali, Nai Basti and other adjoining villages.Sukhnandan said that an effective monitoring mechanism has been put in place to enforce accountability and transparency in implementation of development programmes in the state. He asked the executing agency to complete all the development works within stipulated time frame by using quality material, adding that Government has resolved to provide concrete assets to the people across the State. Among others, Chief Engineer PWD Alok Mengi, SDM Marh Hitash Gupta, SP Rural Rajeev Pandey, XEN PWD Rajan Mengi, Tehsildar Marh,  other officers besides Sarpanches, Panches and a large number of people were also present on the occasion.
