Chief Secretary reviews Durbar move arrangements

Chief Secretary, B R Sharma, Tuesday reviewed Durbar move arrangements from Srinagar to Jammu here in a meeting with officers.The Civil Secretariat and other move offices will close in Srinagar on 30 October 2015 and open in Jammu on 9 November 2015.It was informed in the meeting that as many as 150 trucks and 60 buses have been deployed for ferrying official records and employees on 31st October and 1st November, and on 7th and 8th November. In this connection, the Chief Secretary directed for putting in place all necessary measures to ensure smooth movement of durbar move vehicles. He directed that extra buses and trucks be kept available during the move days besides adequate number of cranes, mobile workshops, recovery vans, medical mobile teams, ambulances along with necessary equipment and staff deployed en-route to meet any exigency. He also directed the concerned to ensure that move employees are not overcharged by taxis, etc.

Chief Secretary also asked representatives from BEACON to ensure good condition of Srinagar-Jammu National Highway especially at vulnerable spots during the move days.It was also informed that during move days, army and other paramilitary convoys will reduce their movement to facilitate smooth movement of durbar move vehicles. Arrangements have also been made for providing escort security to the employees and convoys carrying the official records from Srinagar to Jammu.Chief Secretary directed CA&PD to issue ration cards and temporary gas connections to move employees for their Jammu stay and to ensure timely supply of rations besides, directing the concerned departments to ensure complete sanitation, availability of electricity and potable drinking water in all residential colonies of the move employees.Chief Secretary also asked the concerned department to carry out cleanliness drive from 15th of October in Jammu city as per directions of the Chief Minister. 

Meanwhile, Chief Secretary asked Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, to take a review with all Deputy Commissioners with regard to cleanliness drive in every district.Mr. Sharma also asked the concerned to inspect all employee residential colonies and ensure that necessary facilities are in place including cleaning up water storage tanks and launching an intensive sanitation drive in all colonies. Besides he also instructed Jammu Municipal Corporation to carry out fumigation of all employees’ and other residential colonies in the city. He also directed the Health Department to issue an advisory regarding dos and donts in order to prevent spread of diseases like dengue. 

Mr Sharma also directed the IT department to ensure that LAN/Internet connections in Jammu Secretariat are fully functional by the time move offices reopen there. He also directed for adequate deployment of security in all residential colonies both in Srinagar and Jammu.The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, B B Vyas, Principal Secretary, Home, R K Goyal, ADGP Security, V K Singh, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Asgar Samoon, Commissioner Secretary Finance, Commissioner Secretary GAD, Secretary Information & Technology, Secretary PHE, I&FC, Secretary CA&PD, IGP Kashmir, IGP, Traffic J&K, Director Estates, representatives from Army and BEACON and other senior officers of Civil and Police administration.
