Srinagar , 12 Oct 2015

several JKLF leaders and activists were arrested by police at Lal Chowk today when they were protesting against attacks on Kashmiris by Hindu chauvinist forces.According to a statement issued to KNS, those arrested included JKLF vice chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakshi, JKLF Zonal president Noor Mohammad Kalwal, Mohammad Yasin Bhat, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Gulam Rasool Hazari , Shahid Ahmed Mackaya,Shakir Ahmed Ahangar, Imtiaz Ahmad, Basharat Ahmad Bhat. These people were arrested near Abi Guzar area on their way to MA Road. The participants of the protest march were shouting slogans against chauvinist forces while expressing solidarity with Muslims of the Jammu region. The protesters were also denouncing the recent attacks on Kashmiri truck drivers in Udhampur. Police also arrested many youth including Muhammad Hussian who was severely thrashed before being arrested .It is worth to mention that JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik is under house arrest from 11th October 2015.

While condemning these arrests, restrictions and police oppression on protestors, JKLF incarcerated chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that police and forces Monday touched a new low by unleashing worst kind of state terrorism on peaceful protestors who were only protesting against growing attacks on innocent Kashmiris.Mohammad Yasin Malik said that police is trying to prove itself more loyal than the king and instead of stopping attacks on Kashmiris in Udhampor is unleashing terror against innocent Kashmiris who are protesting against these murderous terrorist attacks.Chairman JKLF Mohammad Yasin Malik said three Kashmiris have been seriously injured at udhampor in two different attacks and these terrorist acts have harassed all those travelling on this highway but rulers instead of doing something against the attackers are unleashing terror in Kashmir valley.

He said that these attacks seem to be part of plan to harm communal harmony in Jammu Kashmir and it seems that so-called Kashmiri rulers for their lust of power are actually abetting these attacks.Condemning the use of excessive force against peaceful protesters, Mohammad Yasin Malik said that rulers and their police must bear in mind that the life of tyranny and oppression is not long and that they will have to answer for these atrocities. While appreciating people for their support and total protest strike today against Udhampor attacks, JKLF chairman said that Kashmiris will keep resisting state terrorism, oppression and suppression with passion and zeal.
