DDC conducts Public Grievances Redressal Camp, assesses people’s problems

District Development Commissioner, Rajouri, Shabir Ahmed Bhat today convened public grievances redressal camp at Kalakote to take first hand appraisal of the problems and demands of the people . ADC Veer Jee  Hangloo, ASP   Rakesh Kumar, ACD Noor Alam, SDM Kalakote, Balkrishn Pangotra, besides all district officers and heads of various projects also attended the camp.Sarpanchs, Panchs and people of the area apprised the Deputy Commissioner  about various problems being faced by them  which include  acute shortage of electricity, absence of adequate staff in schools  and health centres  and shortage of ration besides  demanded to expedite the process of preparation of Aadhar Cards in Kalakote constituency, development of  Tattapani as  tourist spot ,  clearance of liability under IAY and  carrying out the maintenance and repair work on some road besides   macadamization of  other roads. In addition to this, they also demanded for eviction of encroachers from Panchayat land at village Panjah.

The issues relating to the functioning and status of Anganwadi  centres, schools, roads , health institutions, livestock health care, ration supply  were also discussed and the locals stressed the need for their upgradation.Addressing the gathering, DDC said that  more such camps will be organised  for helping the populace of rural and far-off pockets for addressing their problems on fast-track basis.  He  emphasized the need close coordination between the administration and the people for effective implementation of various welfare and development programmes and added that it  is pre- requisite for growth and progress of  area.

Meanwhile, he directed the executive engineer PHE to take immediate steps to make the filtration plant of the town area fully functional by end of December this year.  He directed the officers to conduct frequent visits in the field, particularly in hilly areas to ascertain the people's grievances at their doorsteps for an early redressal and  appealed the people to extend  cooperation to the administration for ensuring the overall development of the area.Enroute, he also inspected CHC, Kalakote  and issued directions  to the doctors and para-medics  to improve the health care facilities.
