Minister for R&B, Syed Altaf Ahmed Bukhari today informed the House that due to heavy rains during September 2014 and March 2015, roads of District Doda were severely damaged. Temporary restoration works were executed and the traffic is plying on these roads.The Minister was replying to a Calling Attention Notice by Mr. Shakti Raj Parihar. He said that the road from Km 1st to Km 5th is under maintenance of R&B Department and is of single lane status with damaged BT surface. Improvement of this stretch has been sanctioned under State Plan at a cost of Rs. 115.07 lacs against which an expenditure of Rs. 18.00 lacs has been incurred ending March 2015. An amount of Rs. 8.00 lacs has been earmarked during the current financial year for the said road. 02 H/Pipe Culverts and 75 rmt walling have been completed.
He said that the road from Km 5th is under PMGSY and is sanctioned for a total length of 20 kms under Phase-VI (Stage-I) at a cost of Rs. 1137.09 lacs. 70% work (Earth work upto km 19th and Cross Drainage/protection work upto km 10th) has been completed at the cost of Rs. 732.23 lacs. The road was blocked due to flash floods of Sept 2014, and March 2015 which has now been temporarily restored for traffic. The work is under progress.
The Minister further told that the road Dongroo to Gadather having a length of 20 kms has been sanctioned under PMGSY Phase-VI (Stage I) at a cost of Rs. 1211.81 lacs. 55% work (Earth work upto km 17th and Cross Drainage/protection work upto km 8th) has been completed by incurring an expenditure of Rs. 595.00 lacs. The road was blocked due to flash floods of Sept 2014 and March 2015 which has been temporarily restored for traffic upto km 10th in August 2015. Stage-II of the road has been sanctioned under Phase IX at a cost of Rs. 843.89 lacs. Tenders shall be invited for Stage II work after completion of Stage 1st.
He further informed the House that under R&B sector, 20 kms of the road length with nomenclature “Ghat-Bhaboor -Dhara Road” is sanctioned under State plan at a cost of Rs. 550.09 lacs, against which Rs. 281.73 lacs have been incurred ending March 2015. During the current financial year, Rs. 12.68 lacs have been released so far against the approved outlay of Rs. 16.90 lacs. The present status of the road is BT= 17.00 kms, MT=1.00 kms & SH- 2.00 kms.
Similarly under PMGSY, 13 kms of the road with nomenclature “Doda Malwana Jagir road” has been sanctioned under PMGSY Phase-V (Stage I) at a cost of Rs. 518.87 lacs. The work stands completed in December 2014 at an expenditure of Rs. 513.63 lacs. The road was damaged due to flash floods of Sept 2014 and March 2015 and was temporarily restored by way of providing motor-path. Tenders for Stage II sanctioned under PMGSY Phase VII at Rs. 495.05 lacs have been invited 15 times but with no response.
This road having a length of 26.80 kms has been sanctioned under State Plan at a cost of Rs. 574.95 lacs, against which Rs. 517.15 lacs have been incurred ending March 2015. During the current financial year, Rs. 33.75 lacs have been released so far against the approved outlay of Rs. 45.00 lacs. The present status of the road is BT= 17.50 kms, MT=5.00 kms & SH= 4.30 kms. Moreover, for improvement in riding quality surface of said road by way of laying of 25mm SDBC and 50mm B.M., a road length of 2.00 kms has been proposed under macadamization programme of City / Town roads Plan at a cost of Rs. 70.00 lacs. Tenders for the same stand floated and the work will be taken up shortly.
Under R&B sector, 23.60 kms of the road have been taken up under State Plan at a cost of Rs. 374.20 lacs against which Rs. 367.42 lacs have been incurred ending March 2015. During the current financial year 2015-15, Rs. 5.09 lacs have been released so far against the approved allocation of Rs. 6.78 lacs. The present status of the road is BT- 20.00 Kms and MT 3.60 Kms. Moreover, for improvement in riding quality surface of said road by way of laying of 25mm SDBC and 50mm B.M., a road length of 2.00 kms has been proposed under macadamization programme of City / Town roads Plan at a cost of Rs. 70.00 lacs. Tenders stand floated and the work will be taken up shortly.
Under PMGSY, 10.025 kms of the said have been taken up for execution under Phase-VI at a cost of Rs. 722.92 lacs. 85% of the Stage I work stand completed at the cost of Rs. 428.17 lacs. The road was damaged due to flash floods of September 2014 / rains during March 2015. Temporary restoration works were executed for traffic in April 2015. The Stage II of the work is sanctioned under Phase IX at the cost of Rs. 467.71 lacs. Tenders for the same shall be invited after completion of the work of the Stage I.
Doda Goddi road having a length of 9.65 kms has been sanctioned under PMGSY Phase-V at a cost of Rs. 412.59 lacs. 85 % work (Earth work upto km 10thand Cross Drainage/protection work upto km 9th) has been completed by incurring an expenditure of Rs. 325.90 lacs. After flash floods of September 2014 and heavy rains during March 2015, the road was temporarily restored for traffic in April 2015.
