Rs 76.95 cr spent on restoration of 4064 flood-affected spots: Ch. Sukhnandan Kumar

Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Ch. Sukhnandan Kumar today informed the House it is not a fact that no repairs of breaches on river banks have been done. He said after the floods of September 2014, the restoration of the breached spots and banks on rivers / nallahs was taken up by the Irrigation and Flood Control department on war footing basis.Replying to a Calling Attention Notice by Mr. Abdul Majid Bhat (Larmi), the Minister said that Rs 76.15 crore have been spent on 3945 works and  under Irrigation sector Rs 70.91 lakh have been utilized for restoration of 83 spots under temporary and Permanent Restoration.He further said that under Flood Control sector Rs. 8.85 lakh have been incurred for restoration of 36 spots.
