Minister for Public Works (R&B),Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari said that the School Education Department has identified 58 posts of 10+2 lecturers in Urdu discipline for recruitment on fast-track basis.The Minister was replying to question by Master Noor Hussain on behalf of Minister for Education in the Legislative Council today. The Minister said Urdu is being taught in all Government as well as Private institutions from Class I to X as an optional subject and an elective subject in classes XI and XII in the State.The Minister said selection of teachers is done through SSB only as General Line Teachers and not as subject specific. He added that shortage of Urdu knowing teachers in district Jammu, Samba and Kathua is made up by internal arrangement in schools.
While replying to supplementaries, Minister of State for Education, Ms. Priya Sethi assured that various steps to address the said issue are being taken and results would be visible on ground soon.Dr. Bashir Ahmed Veeri, Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Ajatshatru Singh, Surinder Mohan Ambardar and Sajjad Kichloo raised supplementaries to the main question.
