Minister for Health and Medical Education, Choudhary Lal Singh informed the House that construction work of district Hospital Ganderbal has been taken up at an estimated cost of Rs 52.56 crore against which Rs 23.10 crore stand expended. He said Rs 2 crore have been approved for the hospital complex during current financial year under NHM.Replying to a question by Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar, the Minister informed the House that 90% roof work of Emergency and OPD Blocks of the Hospital have been completed and finishing work of IPD Block is in progress. He said the work on Boiler House, Administrative Block, Medical Gases Block and Mortuary Block is under progress.
The Minister said that Unani College-cum-Hospital at Ganderbal is under execution at an estimated cost of Rs 32.25 crore. He said Rs 18 crore have been utilized on the project upto last financial year.The Minister informed that brick, roof and plastering works of Unani College has been completed while as joinery and finishing work is in progress. He said efforts are on to complete the project well in time.Legislator, Mr. G. M. Saroori in his supplementary question urged for filling up of vacant posts of doctors and paramedical staff in far off health centers of his constituency. He also demanded upgradation of health infrastructure in the area.
