Minister of State for Health and Medical Education, Ms. Asiea Naqash informed the House that out of 14 sanctioned posts of Doctors in Emergency Hospital Banihal, 9 are in position and against 24 posts of paramedics, 16 are in position. She said besides 2 MBBS, ISM Doctors have also been engaged under NHM to supplement the existing manpower in the hospital.Replying to a question by Mr. Vikar Rasool, the Minister said that Rs 30 lakh have been released for procurement of critical care ambulance for district Ramban adding that procurement process is underway.The Minister informed that to meet the shortage of Radiologists in the hospitals in Jammu division, 59 doctors have been trained through short-term courses in sonography.Responding to supplementary of the Member, the Health Minister Choudhary Lal Singh said that out of 96 posts of medicos and paramedics in Banihal 70 are in position. He said selection for vacant posts in the health department is being made on fast-track basis.
