To review the flow of credit under ACP 2015-16, performance of banks in key areas relating to deposits, advances under priority sector lending for the quarter ended June 2015 and also review under Government Sponsored programmes etc Lead Bank Office (SBI) Kathua, organized DLRC/DCC meeting of bankers and Heads of Government Department of Kathua district at DC Office Kathua on Tuesday.The meeting was chaired by District Development Commissioner Kathua, Ramesh Kumar and convened by LDM, SBI, and Kathua Talwar J.P. Singh.

The DDC had a thread bare review of PMEGP/SC- ST-OBC/KVIB/ KVIC/DIC/SJSRY/Handloom/Handicraft/KCC etc. with special emphasis on credit linkage of borrower under these schemes. He emphasized upon the banks to expedite cases for linkage under various schemes and achieve the allocated targets for 2015-16. He impressed upon the banks and all the departments to achieve greater coordination in their working, so as to achieve the desired results.

 The Chairman expressed concern over the low percentage of achievement of annual credit plan and appealed for increase in advance to all the sectors especially to weaker sections, to women, agriculture and allied activities, SME and Micro finance. The house expressed satisfaction over the CD- Ratio but insisted to improve it to the maximum extent to achieve the national level of 60 percent.

The DDC appealed all the banks to adopt multi level approach to make their outreach possible in far-flung areas for maximum coverage of financial inclusion schemes started by the Prime Minister i.e. Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana, Atal Pension Yojana, Jivan Joyti Bima Yojana, Suraksha Bima Yojana and Ladli Beti Yojana. The deposit in the district stood at Rs. 3455 crores and advance Rs. 1373 crores thus the CD-ratio of the district is 39.74 percent.

Later, Local Advisory Committee Meeting (LAC) of R-SETI Kathua was also held under the chairmanship of DDC Kathua. R-SETI Kathua conduct 51 courses upto ending June in which 1145 candidates were trained under different trades. Around 51 percent of the total candidates trained were settled either in bank finance, self finance or under wage employment.
