Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora, today said land mafia will not be allowed to encroach upon State land and directed the officers and field staff of Jammu Development Authority to take stringent action against the land grabbers.
“All encroachments on state land including encroachment in Gole Gujral, Jammu should be removed without any fear and favour” maintained the Minister while directing for strict implementation of court orders in this regard.Speaking at joint meeting of officers of JDA and Revenue Department in Civil Secretariat, Jammu, Jora asked for removing all encroachments on Government land adding that JDA should seek all logistic support from the administration for the purpose.
Secretary to Government, Housing and Urban Development, Satish Nehru, Vice Chairman JDA, Kuldeep Khajuria, Tehsildar, Jammu, Ravinder Sharma, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Sher Singh and concerned officers of Urban Development and Revenue Departments were also in the meeting. “Being guardians of the state land, it was obligatory for JDA to launch a vigorous anti-encroachment drive” Jora stressed and assured all help to the concerned officers and field staff in this regard. He said political interference will not be allowed to come in the way of anti-encroachment drive and directed the officers to take appropriate action in this regard without any fear and favour. He urged for united efforts of citizens and administration to eradicate the menace.Jora assured that best performers will be rewarded suitably.
