C-Pyte To Spend Rs 9 Crore On Training Of Unemployed Youths

The 30th meeting of Executive Board of the Centre for Training and Employment of Punjab Youth (C-PYTE) today approved a budget estimate of Rs 9 crore for the current financial year 2013-14. The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Punjab Employment Generation Minister S. Ajit Singh Kohar. S. Kohar said that C-Pyte is a unique organization engaged in imbibing Self Discipline, Spirit of National Integration, Secularism, Dignity of Labour and Work Culture to Youth of Punjab by imparting training to enable them to join Defence/Para Military Forces and hone their technical skills to get suitable employment with industry and also undertake self employment ventures to lead a dignified life. S. Kohar Said that besides this Computer, Electrician, Refrigeration and air conditioning, plumbing and JCB training courses would be started and after the completion of training certificates were also be provided to the trainers. The Minister further said that the diet money of youth and staff of C-PYTE has been enhanced by Rs.60/- in the meeting.In the meeting Col. Shanjit Singh Bhullar Deputy Director, C-PYTE apprised the minister that there are 15 camps located in the state to impart pre-selection training to the youth for joining army, air force, central para military forces and police. He said that till March 2013, 172221 Youth have undergone training at various camps out of which nearly 96615 youth have been provide with wage employment in the rmy/Para-military frces/Govt, Public and Private Sectors.Prominent among others who were present in the meeting included Secretary Employment Generation Sh. KJS Cheema, all the pisional Commissioners of the state and the representatives of the various departments.
