Himachal is endowed with the rarest variety of tree plants and possibilities were being explored for marketing  the best species of timber through global e-tendering process and a website of the Corporation would also be launched soon containing relevant information about forest wealth and marketing tactics for the sale of best timber, revealed the Vice- Chairman of State Forest Corporation, Sh. Kewal Singh Pathania while presiding over the meeting of Committee on persification of Crop Management, here today.Possibilities are being explored to manufacture bamboo goods and furniture so that it could be sold at profitable rates so as to increase the income of the corporation, he said, adding that the modalities pertaining to the furniture requirements of all the departments was being worked upon wherein the same would be met through the corporation which will get the quality furniture made through its units situated at Shamshi, Hamirpur and Baijnath.

Effective steps would be undertaken for increasing the sale of the corporation by selling timber through its depots at Manthuwala in Nahan, Nurpur, Baddi, Dhanotu, Bhaderwa, Chamba etc depending upon the different variety of woods available in such depots. It was decided in the meeting that marketing executives would be stationed at different furniture factories of the corporation and efforts would be made to adopt sound marketing strategies for increasing the sale of the furniture, besides giving it adequate publicity, said Sh. Pathania. It was also discussed as how to market the best species available in the State.A decision was taken to submit the proposals to Forest Minister, Sh. Thakur Singh Bharmouri  for final say, said he.Managing Director, Forest Corporation, Sh. J.S.Walia, Executive Director, Sh. S.K.Sharma, Director Administration, Sh. B.D.Sosayal were also present in the meeting amongst others.
