Govt sets up 5 member committee on Pvt Hospitals, nursing homes, to submit report within 3 weeks

Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI & Trainings, Ch. Lal Singh today ordered constitution of  a five member committee to look into the issue of mushrooming of un-registered private hospitals and nursing homes in Kashmir valley.Reacting to some media reports about mushroom growth of private nursing homes in the valley, the Minister directed officials to look into the matter, assuring that strict action will be taken against the violators.“I have ordered to constitute a five member committee to look into the matter. Stakeholders who are found following and obeying the rules and regulations set by the government will be given go ahead and violators will be strictly dealt with,” the Minister informed.

The five member committee will be headed by the Project Director, J&K AIDS Control Society, Dr Saleem-Ur-Rehman. Other members of the committee include, Medical Superintendent, GB Panth Hospital, Dr Shafqat Khan, Deputy Director Health Services (HQ) Kashmir, Dr Karim, Medical Superintendent, B&J Hospital, Srinagar, Dr Abdul Rasheed Badoo, representatives from civil society, Enterpreneur Umer Tramboo and journalist, Shuja-Ul-Haq.The Minister has asked the committee to have a thorough inspection and submit the report within three weeks i.e., before  October 25, 2015.
