Finance Minister Along With High Powered Committee Visits South Wales

The high powered committee comprising of the Finance Ministers of various states including Punjab today visited New South Wales and Sydney. The High Powered Committee along with Fianance Minister Punjab Mr. Parminder Singh Dhindsa was visiting Australia to study the Tax system of that country.They also called on the Premier Mike Beard and gathered detailed information on the GST system enforced in Australia.Disclosing this here today an official spokesman of the government said that the Indian government was contemplating to implement GST after minutely studying the pros and cons of this system. 

The information gathered by the visiting delegation was considered to be vital in this connection, he added.Meanwhile the visiting delegation also visited the Parliament of New South Wales along with the Premier Mike Beard and his cabinet colleagues. Later they also visited Canberra. It may be recalled that this delegation was on an official visit to Australia to study VAT and GST systems implemented in Australia and would submit a complete report regarding this to Government of India.
