Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today inaugurated lift irrigation supply scheme at Neri in Shimla Rural assembly segment completed with an outlay of Rs 21 lakhs and lift water supply scheme completed at a cost of Rs 22 lakhs catering to the needs of the Ninu, Bhakoo, Karyali and Bhung habitations of Gram Panchayat Neri. He also laid foundation stones of GSSS building at Rampuri- Keonthal to cost Rs1.12 crore and Primary Health Centre at Kohbag to be constructed at a cost of Rs 1.41 crore.Later, addressing a public meeting at Gawahi-Kalan, Shri Virbhadra Singh said many milestones of development had been set up in the Shimla Rural constituency during the present government’s regime and various health, educational and other important institutes had been opened to facilitate the people of the constituency.
He said the work on Rs. 105 crore lift water supply scheme in the constituency was in progress which will cater to the needs of 41 Gram Panchayats of Shimla Rural assembly segment including 12 panchayats of Basantpur block.He said that the government was also considering to opening a degree college in government sector at 16 miles in the constituency. He assured to upgrade Primary School Gawahi-Kalan and announced shifting of Kohbag Health Sub Centre to Rangol after completion of PHC building at Kohbag. He said one multipurpose hall in would also be constructed in GSSS Kohbag. He also announced upgradation of Government Middle School of Sanog (upper) in GP Neri to High School.
The Chief Minister said the State was fast progressing on the path of development the credit for which goes to the successive progressive congress government’s right from the times of first Chief Minister Dr. Y.S.Parmar.The Chief Minister also announced a sum of rupees seven thousands each to the schools who presented cultural programmes on the occasion.Shri Virbhadra Singh said the BJP leaders of the State had always played divisive politics and their tactics had been to criticise the Congress leaders. “Every time BJP tried to implicate me in false cases, it made me stronger than ever before and I want to say that the truth prevails in the end”, he said, adding that their propaganda and cheap tactics would not last longer.He advised the BJP leaders to accept the truth that present congress government has ensured all-round and speedy development of all areas of the state rather than indulging in character assassination. He said that the people of the country were well educated and won’t easily fall prey to the tactics of BJP.
Referring to Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association, he said that th previous BJP government gave valuable land worth crores of rupees for building a five star hotels and cricket stadium at Dharamsala. The land was shown as barren land wherein hundreds of trees were standing there. They made company of HPCA with 25 members, either the relatives or kith and Kin of the Dhumals. He said the HPCA should be registered under the co-operative Act.Pradhan, Gawahi Kalan Vikas Manch, Shri Jagdish Kumar placed demands of the area before the Chief Minister.President, Block Congress Committee, Shimla Rural, Shri Chandershekhar thanked the Chief Minister for getting started the Rs 105 crore LWSS which would benefit as many as 41 Panchayats of the area. He also listed other developments of the area.Former MLA Shri Sohan Lal also spoke on the occasion and thanked the Chief Minister for dedicating projects worth crores. Member BoD, HPSIDC Shri. P.K. Sharma, Zonal incharge BCC Shri. Mahesh Verma, President Shimla Rural (women) Smt. Anita Sharma, President Shakrah panchayat Smt. Kavita Kanwar and senior officers of various departments were also present on the occasion.
