GH Mir convenes meeting of officers

The Minister for Agriculture Production, Ghulam Hassan Mir convened a high level meeting of officers in Winter Secretariat here today to review power scenario and take stock of snow preparedness in the Valley.The meeting was attended by the Power Development Commissioner, Chief Engineers of various streams including Power, PHE and Mechanical Engineering, Commissioner, Srinagar, Municipal Corporation, Joint Director CA&PD, representative of Health Services Kashmir, and other concerned officers.The PHE authorities were asked to ensure water supply to the consumers and also arrange for tanker service in the areas where consumers are facing problems due to water scarcity. Reviewing the stock and supply position of essentials in the Valley, the Minister was informed that 21350 quintals of rice, 13741 quintals of wheat, 286 quintals of sugar, 582 quintals of Atta, 6139 Kilo litres of kerosene oil and 2,48,000 cylinders of LPG are currently stocked in the godowns of CA&PD. Besides, 11085 litres of diesel and 3189 litres of motor spirit are available for the Valleyites.

The officers of the CA&PD were directed to mobilize its market checking squads to curb black marketing, profiteering and hoarding.The Minister directed the Power Development Commissioner, Kashmir to strictly adhere to the curtailment schedule and also ensure timely repair of power transformers. He also urged the Power Development Department authorities to gear up field functionaries and checking squads to check the power theft.

The Minister asked the Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation to ensure cleanliness of the city roads and timely removal of garbage from the dumping sites. He was also asked them to make sufficient arrangements for manual snow clearance from the lanes and by lanes of the city, in case of snowfall.The Chief Engineer Mechanical Engineering pision, Kashmir was directed to put in place all arrangements for clearance of snow from all major Valley roads in advance.The Health authorities were asked to ensure proper heating arrangements in all the health institutions operating in Valley and provide better health care facilities to the patients.The Minister urged the officers to work with dedication and try their best to mitigate the people’s problems. He asked them to remain available for people for redressal of their grievances.
