On the eve of Birth Anniversary of Father of the Nation, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee held a meeting of Prominent Leaders and workers at Party Headquarter, Srinagar.According to a statement issued to KNS, the meeting was presided over by Former PCC President Peerzada Mohd. Syed.The speakers while speaking on the occasion paid glowing tributes to father of the Nation on his 146th Birth Anniversary and said Gandhi was an apostle of peace. A staunch believer of non violence, Gandhi Ji fought the battle for independence with peace and succeeded in setting the Nation free from British Rulers, they said.Mahatma Gandhi was a very tallest leader who with his vision made the people of country united inspired them to fight together against British Rulers with peace. A true believer of non violence, Gandhi ji’s prolonged struggle for securing freedom from the British Colonial rule made the people of country free from suppression, they said.
They said Gandhi Ji’s fight campaign against social injustice, suppression of under privileged section of society racism and his teachings about tolerance are indelibly embossed on the global conscience. Gandhi Ji’s sacrifices for the Nation shall always remain a lesson for all the country men, they said.Those who paid rich tributes to Mahatama Gandhi included Jehngir Hussain Mir Dy.
